Maybe you have played Chess since you were 4, maybe your only Chess knowledge comes from The Queen's Gambit. Well, it doesn't matter at the CheckMate, Cover's Amateur Chess Tournament. You will be randomly matched against other students and staff members, to see who climbs to the top of the Chess mountain! Skill really doesn't matter, so don't feel scared to join!
If you have never played Chess, there are some great resources to learn the very basics of the game. http://chess.com and https://lichess.org/ both offer free lessons on the very basics of the game. So if you have no Chess knowledge, you might want to start there! The platform we will use is Lichess, but you will not need an account!
