Welcome to the second lecture of Machine Learning Month

Recent advances in machine learning have created models that can fool people into thinking that they are human. Are you ready to embark on the long journey of teaching machines to do the same thing?

This Thursday, FCG is hosting the second lecture of Machine Learning Month and we will be joined by Gabriele Sarti (https://gsarti.com/), a PhD in natural language processing at the Computational Linguistics Group of the University of Groningen. Like last time, there will be a coding practical to test the models yourself, thus, we highly encourage attendance.

The lecture is aimed at providing a brief introduction to natural language processing and will cover the following topics:
1) Text pre-processing
2) Feature extraction with TF-IDF encoding
3) Training a Linear Regressor to make predictions
4) ✨Power of the transformer models✨

Knowledge obtained from this lecture can present a significant advantage if you wish to compete in our competition. For more information on the contest, look at https://mlmonth.svcover.nl

For questions or searching for teammates, join the FCG server ( https://discord.gg/JfzxyBHPsH )
